What the online channel changes
As of September 2026, the National Immigration Administration operates an online accommodation registration route that is available nationwide. This supersedes the seven-region pilot that began in March 2026. The channel gives foreigners staying at non-hotel addresses an official way to complete the required accommodation registration online, alongside the traditional in-person route.
Who sets the rules, and who decides the details
The online measure operates at several levels. Keeping them separate helps you know where to get an answer when something is unclear.

Practical sequence
- Check that your address is a non-hotel domicile covered by the NIA route; use the official national platform or ask the local authority for in-person help.
- Open the official online channel from the National Immigration Administration's online channels page.
- Submit the required accommodation details through the official interface.
- Use the record inquiry function on the same official channel to verify the entry was recorded.
- Save a copy of the confirmation and the inquiry result for your own records.
For a non-hotel stay, the NIA specifies filing within 24 hours after arrival. The online route began nationwide on 21 September 2026, and the in-person route remains available.
What to save
Keep the registration record or confirmation produced after submission, and the result returned by the record inquiry. These are your evidence that the registration was completed through the official channel. Note the channel used and the date for your own reference.
When the normal route stalls
If the online interface is unavailable, your submission is not accepted, or the record inquiry does not show your entry, do not treat the obligation as met through the online route. Use the in-person option at the local public security or exit-entry authority, and keep the in-person receipt as your record.
Because the live interface and the record inquiry can change, verify them on the official channel rather than relying on an older saved screenshot.
